"Grivot Rangers Company Cavalry (St. Landry).  Captain S. D. Ashe, resigned September 8, 1862; Captain B. W. Bond.  Also known as Bond's Mounted Partisan Rangers.  Organized August 21, 1862, at Opelousas from a militia company. Operated along the Mississippi River between Plaquemine and St. Charles Courthouse. In skirmishes at Boutte Station and Bayou Des Allemands, September 4, 1862. Mustered out September 18, 1862, at Thibodaux. Some men joined Company A, 2nd Louisiana Cavalry Regiment."
