The Eastern Acadians in Gray return to the Shenandoah and fight their way to the outskirts of Washington, D.C., this time under Early, and the results are hardly victorious. Back in the Valley, Early and his Acadians are humiliated by Sheridan’s army at Cedar Creek, near Winchester.
