Yellow Bayou, LA

May 18, 1864

Looking south where highway crosses bayou.  Fighting took place along the banks of the bayou as the Federals attacked, left to right, the Confederates here.  The Confederates counterattacked, forcing the Federals back, but they were eventually able to halt the counterattack.
